CorayNova supports transparent publishing information so that authors can understand access models, APCs, waivers, discounts, refunds, licensing, copyright, and self-archiving before submission and payment.

CorayNova supports open access publishing across its journals. Journals independently established by CorayNova normally operate as fully open access journals. Where journals are developed with universities, research institutions, scholarly societies, or other partners, the publishing model may vary according to the journal's academic, institutional, and operational requirements, and may include open access, hybrid, subscription, delayed open access, or other approved arrangements. Authors should always review the individual journal page before submission.

· APCs and Payment Timing

Whether an article processing charge applies depends on the policy and development stage of the individual journal. Where APCs apply, the journal page should clearly state the amount, currency, article types covered, waiver or discount options, refund terms, payment timing, and any article-type-specific conditions.

APCs are not charged at initial submission. Where an APC applies, it is collected after acceptance and before proof production or proofreading begins. APC payment is separate from editorial evaluation and does not influence editorial screening, peer review, acceptance decisions, priority handling, or publication outcomes.

· Waivers, Discounts, Institutional Agreements, and Subscriptions

CorayNova encourages journals to provide appropriate APC waivers and discounts where feasible. Specific eligibility, documentation, timing, and approval procedures are determined by each journal and should be reviewed on the relevant journal page before payment.

Waiver or discount requests must be made before payment. If an author becomes eligible for a waiver or discount only after payment has already been made, the waiver or discount does not apply retroactively.

· Refund Policy for APCs

Refund rules are part of APC transparency. Authors should review the relevant journal's APC and refund information before payment.

Incorrect amount, currency, or invoice recipient caused by CorayNova or the journal	Refund the difference, or refund in full and request a corrected payment where necessary.
Author withdraws after APC payment but before proof production or proofreading begins	No refund.
Author withdraws after copyediting, typesetting, proof production, or related production work has started	No refund.
Author withdraws after proofs have been issued	No refund.
Author requests withdrawal or refund after formal publication	No refund.
Withdrawal, rejection, or non-publication caused by author misconduct, duplicate submission, plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, authorship problems, or other author-responsibility ethics issues	No refund.
After APC payment, the author cannot provide required ethics approval, permissions, copyright evidence, data statements, or other publication-required materials	No refund. Production may wait until the author completes the required materials. If author-caused delay or omission makes the manuscript no longer suitable for publication, including because data become outdated, prior publication occurs elsewhere, similarity concerns increase, or other author-caused conditions arise, the journal may decline publication and the APC will not be refunded.
Journal discontinuation, transfer, merger, or withdrawal of a cooperation partner prevents publication of an already paid article	CorayNova will consult the author. The author may choose a full refund or priority consideration for transfer or resubmission to another appropriate CorayNova journal, subject to the receiving journal's editorial assessment.
A serious publisher-side technical error affects the published version and cannot be resolved by ordinary correction	CorayNova will arrange correction, replacement, or republication as appropriate.
A correction is needed after publication but the article remains valid and usable	No APC refund. If the correction is caused by author error or author-requested changes, additional fees may apply depending on the work required, including whether further peer review is needed. If the correction is caused by CorayNova or journal production error, CorayNova will handle the correction without additional author charge.
Retraction caused by author responsibility	No refund.
Retraction caused mainly by journal or publisher processing error	CorayNova will arrange republication where feasible.
Author becomes eligible for a waiver or discount after APC payment	Waivers and discounts apply only when requested and approved before payment. No retroactive refund or discount applies after payment.
Author requests invoice recipient, payer, or tax information changes after payment	Not allowed after payment.
Third-party payer, institution, or cooperation project requests a refund	Handled according to the same refund rules that apply to the author and article.
Exchange rate differences, bank fees, payment platform fees, or international transfer charges	Non-recoverable charges are deducted from any refund where applicable.
Taxes, VAT, sales tax, or other legally required charges after payment or invoice issuance	Tax refundability depends on applicable law, finance procedures, and invoice status.
Author is dissatisfied with review history, editorial handling, communication outcome, publication visibility, dissemination effect, metrics, indicators, or post-publication attention	Not a refund reason. Authors should review journal information before payment, monitor each stage carefully, and raise concerns promptly through the appropriate CorayNova route rather than requesting a refund after the event.

 

· Licensing, Copyright, and Self-Archiving

CorayNova journals use Creative Commons licenses, but the specific license is determined by each journal and should be displayed on the journal page and article page. Authors should check whether the license is compatible with funder, institution, employer, collaborator, or repository requirements before submission.

At the publisher level, CorayNova supports the best-practice principle that authors should retain copyright where possible. However, the specific copyright holder, license-to-publish arrangement, and author rights are determined by each journal and should be reviewed before submission.

CorayNova encourages appropriate self-archiving practices. Authors should review the target journal's self-archiving policy to determine whether they may deposit a preprint, accepted manuscript, or final published version in an institutional repository, funder repository, subject repository, personal website, or academic profile, and whether any embargo period, citation requirement, version label, or license condition applies.

· Before Payment, Authors Should Check

1. Does an APC apply to my journal, article type, or publishing arrangement?

2. What is the APC amount, currency, payment timing, invoice route, tax treatment, and refund policy?

3. Are waivers or discounts available, and must I apply before payment?

4. Which Creative Commons license will apply to the published article?

5. Who holds copyright, and what rights do authors retain?

6. What self-archiving rights apply to the preprint, accepted manuscript, and final published version?

7. Does the journal's policy meet my funder, institution, employer, or collaborator requirements?
