Authors are responsible for submitting work that is original, ethically prepared, accurately reported, and transparently documented. This page provides practical ethics reminders for authors before and after submission. It does not replace CorayNova's formal publication ethics policies or the policy requirements of an individual journal.

Authors should review the relevant journal page on the CorayNova Journals Platform and the applicable formal policy pages before submission. Journal-specific requirements are authoritative where they provide more detailed instructions.

Practical Checks Before Submission

Originality

Submit work that is original, properly attributed, and not misleadingly presented as new when it has already been published or substantially disseminated.

Check overlap with your previous publications, preprints, reports, theses, conference papers, datasets, and public materials. Disclose prior dissemination where required.

Plagiarism and text reuse

Avoid plagiarism, inappropriate paraphrasing, unattributed text reuse, and excessive reuse of your own previously published wording without disclosure or citation.

Use accurate quotation, citation, and attribution. Ensure any reused material is permitted under copyright and license terms.

Duplicate submission

Do not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time.

Confirm that the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere before submission.

Research ethics approval

Provide ethics approval, consent, permission, or non-applicability statements for research involving human participants, animals, personal data, questionnaires, interviews, clinical records, fieldwork, or sensitive information where applicable.

Prepare approval details, consent statements, exemption explanations, and supporting documents before submission.

Authorship and contributorship

List only appropriate authors, ensure all authors approve the submission, agree to the author order, and accept responsibility for the work. Follow the target journal's authorship or contributorship statement requirements.

Avoid guest, gift, ghost, or disputed authorship. Provide contributor roles or CRediT-style information where required by the journal.

Competing interests

Disclose financial and non-financial interests that could be perceived to influence the work, or state that there are no competing interests according to the journal's requirements.

Consider employment, funding, consultancies, ownership, patents, personal relationships, academic competition, institutional interests, and other relevant relationships.

Funding transparency

Provide accurate funding information or a statement that no funding was received.

Check funder names, grant numbers, sponsor roles, and any funder open access, data, or licensing requirements.

Data integrity

Ensure that data, analysis, methods, images, quotations, records, and reported results are accurate, traceable, and not fabricated, falsified, selectively reported, or misleadingly manipulated.

Retain appropriate records, prepare a Data Availability Statement, and explain restrictions where data cannot be shared.

AI use

Authors remain responsible for any use of AI tools. AI tools must not be listed as authors and must not be used in ways that compromise confidentiality, originality, accuracy, or research integrity.

Disclose AI use according to CorayNova and journal policy, including use for drafting, editing, translation, literature screening, data analysis, image generation, or code generation where applicable.

Citation practices

Cite relevant sources accurately and avoid citation manipulation, inappropriate self-citation, irrelevant citation, or citation added only to influence metrics.

Ensure references support the claims made in the manuscript and are complete, accurate, and accessible where possible.

Figures and images

Prepare figures, images, tables, maps, and visual data accurately and transparently. Do not alter images in a way that misrepresents the evidence.

Keep original files, label image adjustments, obtain permissions where needed, and follow the journal's image integrity and file requirements.

Post-publication responsibility

After publication, authors should cooperate with correction, clarification, data queries, ethical review, post-publication discussion, or investigation when appropriate.

Report significant errors promptly and respond constructively to legitimate editorial or reader concerns.

Authors should ask for guidance before submission if they are uncertain about authorship, prior dissemination, ethical approval, consent, data restrictions, third-party materials, AI disclosure, image preparation, or competing interests.
