Preparing a manuscript carefully before submission helps editors and reviewers assess the work efficiently, fairly, and responsibly. Authors should ensure that the manuscript is complete, clearly written, ethically prepared, properly documented, and aligned with the requirements of the target journal.

This page provides publisher-level guidance for authors preparing a manuscript for submission to a CorayNova journal. It does not replace the author guidelines of an individual journal. Authors should always review the relevant journal's author guidelines and submission requirements on the CorayNova Journals Platform before submitting. Where journal-specific requirements are stated, they provide the authoritative guidance for that journal.

· Review the Target Journal's Author Guidelines First

Before preparing or uploading a manuscript, authors should identify the target journal and review its author guidelines carefully. Journal-specific requirements may include article type, manuscript structure, word limits, reference style, figure and table preparation, supplementary material rules, file formats, metadata requirements, reporting guidelines, and required declarations.

CorayNova provides publisher-level guidance to support consistency and good practice across its journals. However, each journal may have discipline-specific requirements, article-type-specific instructions, or workflow-specific settings. Authors should follow the target journal's instructions when they are more specific than this publisher-level guidance.

· Prepare Figures, Tables, References, and Supplementary Materials

Figures and tables should be necessary, accurate, readable, and clearly linked to the manuscript's argument or evidence. Authors should check that figure labels, table headings, legends, units, abbreviations, source notes, and permissions are complete before submission.

References should support the manuscript's scholarly context and should be cited accurately. Authors should avoid inappropriate citation practices and should ensure that cited sources are relevant to the manuscript's claims.

Authors may submit supplementary materials where appropriate. Supplementary materials may include additional data, methods, instruments, appendices, multimedia files, or supporting documentation. Whether supplementary materials are accepted, which file types or size limits apply, and how such materials are reviewed or published are determined by each journal.

· Prepare Required Statements and Declarations

Clear statements and declarations support transparency, research integrity, indexing, metadata quality, and responsible publication. CorayNova strongly encourages journals to require authors to provide accurate statements at submission, especially for research articles.

Data Availability Statement
CorayNova strongly recommends that data availability statements be treated as a common requirement, especially for research articles. Authors may state where data can be accessed, why data cannot be shared, whether no new data were generated, or whether access is restricted. Specific requirements and review procedures are determined by each journal.

Funding Statement
CorayNova strongly recommends that journals require all submissions to include a funding statement or a statement that no funding was received.

Ethics Approval Statement
Manuscripts involving human participants, animals, personal data, questionnaires, interviews, clinical settings, fieldwork, or sensitive communities must include appropriate ethics approval or equivalent statement where applicable. If ethics approval is not applicable, authors should state this where required by the journal.

Competing Interests
Authors should disclose financial and non-financial competing interests according to the target journal's requirements.

AI Use Disclosure
If AI tools were used in manuscript preparation, authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and appropriateness of the work and should disclose such use according to CorayNova and journal policy. AI tools must not be listed as authors.

Third-Party Materials
Authors are responsible for obtaining permissions for third-party materials such as images, tables, maps, scales, long text excerpts, datasets, instruments, or other copyrighted or restricted content before submission.

· Research Ethics and Participant Protection

Authors must ensure that research involving human participants, animals, personal data, questionnaires, interviews, clinical records, field observations, vulnerable groups, sensitive communities, or confidential information has been conducted in accordance with applicable ethical, legal, and institutional requirements.

Where ethics approval, informed consent, institutional permission, or equivalent review is required, authors should prepare the relevant statement or documentation before submission. Where such approval is not applicable, authors should indicate this when required by the target journal. The specific format, documentation, and review process are determined by each journal.

· Data, Code, and Reproducibility Information

CorayNova strongly supports transparent reporting of data, code, protocols, materials, and other research outputs where appropriate and possible. A data availability statement helps readers, reviewers, editors, institutions, and funders understand whether and how supporting data can be accessed.

Not all manuscripts will have shareable datasets. Data may be unavailable, restricted, confidential, commercially sensitive, controlled by a third party, protected by law, or not newly generated. In such cases, authors should provide a clear statement explaining the status of the data according to the target journal's policy.

· Language Quality and Readability

Authors should submit manuscripts that are clear, coherent, accurate, and suitable for editorial assessment and peer review. Language quality should not prevent editors and reviewers from understanding the research question, methods, evidence, argument, results, or contribution.

CorayNova does not require authors to use any specific third-party language editing service. However, if a manuscript's language quality makes editorial assessment or peer review difficult, editors may advise authors to revise or polish the language before the manuscript can proceed further.

· Permissions for Third-Party Materials

Authors should check whether the manuscript includes third-party materials such as images, figures, tables, maps, scales, survey instruments, long text excerpts, datasets, software, or other materials that require permission for publication, reuse, adaptation, or distribution.

CorayNova considers it best practice for authors to obtain any necessary permissions before submission. This helps avoid copyright, licensing, privacy, or reuse disputes. CorayNova also expects its journals to make reasonable efforts to avoid such disputes and encourages each journal to respond to this principle in its own author guidelines and editorial checks.

· Final Checks Before Submission

Before submitting, authors are encouraged to complete the following checks. This checklist is intended as practical preparation guidance and does not replace the target journal's author guidelines.

Before submission, confirm that:

1. I have reviewed the target journal's author guidelines on the CorayNova Journals Platform.

2. I have selected the correct article type and followed the relevant structure and formatting instructions.

3. The title, abstract, keywords, figures, tables, and references are complete and accurate.

4. I have prepared required statements, including funding, competing interests, data availability, ethics approval where applicable, and AI use disclosure where applicable.

5. If the study involves human participants, animals, personal data, questionnaires, interviews, or sensitive information, I have prepared the required ethics or consent statement.

6. I have checked whether any third-party materials require permission and obtained permissions where needed.

7. Supplementary materials, if submitted, follow the target journal's file type, size, and review requirements.

8. The manuscript is clear enough for editorial assessment and peer review.

9. I understand that journal-specific requirements are authoritative where they differ from publisher-level guidance.
