CorayNova Academic Press encourages its journals to adopt responsible archiving and preservation practices that support long-term access to published content and maintain the scholarly record. These may include maintaining article pages, DOI links and metadata, keeping backups, linking post-publication notices, and arranging suitable preservation services. The specific arrangements and conditions of access depend on each journal’s publishing and business model and are governed by its published policies. This publisher-level guidance does not constitute a guarantee of permanent or uninterrupted access.

• Publisher-Level Preservation Approach

CorayNova encourages its journals to adopt appropriate archiving and preservation practices to support long-term access and maintain the scholarly record. These may include participation in the PKP Preservation Network, where eligible, or other suitable preservation arrangements. Participation and preservation coverage depend on each journal’s arrangements, technical configuration, and the relevant service’s requirements and confirmed deposit status.

CorayNova also recommends maintaining article pages, DOI links, platform records, metadata, backups, and links to post-publication notices. These measures support access and record management but do not, by themselves, establish that content has been preserved in a long-term archive.

The following practices are publisher-level recommendations. Their implementation, scope, and any associated access conditions depend on each journal’s publishing and business model, published policies, and applicable service terms. These recommendations do not constitute a publisher-wide guarantee of permanent preservation or continuous access.

Backups
Establish backup arrangements appropriate to operational needs and recovery procedures. Backups are distinct from long-term archival preservation.

Metadata maintenance
Maintain accurate metadata to support discovery, citation, repository records, and identification of article updates.

Post-publication notice linking
Link articles to relevant corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, publisher’s or editorial notes, removal notices, and updated records, where applicable.

• Additional Preservation Services

CorayNova encourages its journals to adopt preservation arrangements suited to their needs, including the PKP Preservation Network, LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or Portico, where eligible. This publisher-level recommendation supports long-term preservation while allowing each journal to select arrangements appropriate to its publishing and business model, published policies, technical capabilities, and applicable agreements.

The CorayNova Journals Platform supports integration with the PKP Preservation Network, providing a means of preserving eligible journal content. The content covered by these arrangements depends on each journal’s configuration, eligibility, and confirmed deposit status. Journal-level preservation information should reflect the arrangements in place and the coverage verified through service records.

Journals may also adopt additional preservation services where appropriate. Public information should clearly identify the services in use and their verified coverage, with planned arrangements described separately from those already in place.

Accurately describe verified inclusion and coverage. Any separate preservation arrangements should be identified as such; indexing or database inclusion alone is not a guarantee of long-term preservation or continued access.

• Journal Closure, Transfer, Merger, or End of a Publishing Partnership

CorayNova encourages journals and publishing partners to plan for the continuity of the scholarly record when a journal closes, transfers to another publisher, merges, or reaches the end of a publishing partnership. Such planning should consider published content, metadata, DOI links, preservation deposits, and information about future access.

Responsibilities and arrangements should be established for the journal concerned, taking account of applicable legal and contractual obligations, its publishing and business model, published policies, existing preservation arrangements, and technical feasibility. Continued hosting and access will depend on these specific arrangements; this publisher-level guidance does not constitute a commitment by CorayNova to host a journal or maintain access indefinitely.

Where appropriate and within its control, CorayNova may update journal pages, article pages, metadata, or notices to explain changes in the journal’s status and direct readers to available access options.

• Scope and Limits of Long-Term Access

CorayNova promotes responsible preservation practices to support the long-term availability of scholarly content. The scope, duration, and conditions of preservation and access depend on each journal’s published policies, publishing and business model, applicable licences and agreements, and the preservation or hosting arrangements in place.

Preservation and online access serve related but distinct purposes. Archived content may be made available under the preservation provider’s release conditions and service terms. These arrangements support continuity of the scholarly record but do not constitute a publisher-wide guarantee of permanent preservation or uninterrupted access through CorayNova’s platforms or third-party services. Third-party availability, coverage, and display practices are governed by the respective providers.

Institutions and libraries are encouraged to use DOI links and article landing pages as preferred reference points and to update local records when corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, removal notices, or other post-publication updates are issued.

This guidance does not alter rights or obligations arising under applicable law, publication licences, or binding agreements.
