This resource sets out CorayNova Academic Press's publisher-level standards for compliance readiness, transparency, publication ethics, metadata quality, preservation readiness, and long-term quality development for proposed or cooperating journals.

CorayNova supports journals in developing toward recognized standards of transparency, editorial governance, peer review clarity, publication ethics, open access compliance, metadata quality, preservation, and responsible communication.

· Quality Development Areas

Quality development begins before launch. A proposed journal should be able to explain how it will meet CorayNova publisher-level requirements and how it will develop toward recognized transparency, ethics, metadata, preservation, and governance expectations.

Transparency	Clear public information about ownership, publisher, contact routes, aims and scope, editorial board, peer review, author instructions, fees, licenses, archiving, and complaints.
Editorial governance	Clear role definitions, editorial independence safeguards, conflict-of-interest rules, appointment and review arrangements, and escalation pathways.
Peer review	Public peer review model, reviewer number or expectations, decision process, confidentiality model, reviewer selection standards, and appeal route.
Publication ethics	Alignment with COPE-style principles for authorship, plagiarism, duplicate publication, conflicts, research ethics, data integrity, AI use, corrections, retractions, and complaints.
Open access and fees	Clear OA/access model, APC or funding model where applicable, waiver or discount route where applicable, refund information where applicable, and separation from editorial decisions.
Copyright and licensing	Clear Creative Commons license or other approved license information, rights retention or copyright information, permissions, reuse, and self-archiving terms.
Metadata quality	Article title, authors, affiliations, abstract, keywords, references where available, DOI, ORCID where provided, funding information where provided, license, publication date, version/status, and notice links.
Archiving and preservation	PKP Preservation Network eligibility, DOI persistence, platform records, backups, metadata maintenance, post-publication notice linking, and additional services where formally enabled.
Complaints and appeals	Clear route for complaints, appeals, concerns, correction requests, ethics reports, and serious institutional-level escalation.
Accessibility and inclusion	Responsible language, non-discrimination, accessible public information, clear contact routes, and inclusive journal development.

 

· Claims That Must Not Be Made Prematurely

A journal must not publicly claim, promise, imply, or market external recognition before it has actually been achieved and can be verified. This protects authors, readers, institutions, partners, and the credibility of the scholarly record.

DOAJ	Do not claim DOAJ listing, acceptance, or application success before it is verified.
Scopus	Do not claim Scopus coverage or future acceptance unless the journal is actually covered and the statement is accurate.
Web of Science	Do not claim Web of Science coverage, indexing, or Impact Factor before verified eligibility and coverage.
Impact Factor	Do not promise, imply, or forecast an Impact Factor before the journal has an official metric from the relevant source.
COPE membership	Do not claim COPE membership or acceptance before it is officially granted and accurately applicable.
OASPA membership	Do not claim OASPA membership or acceptance before it is officially granted and accurately applicable.
Third-party databases	Do not claim coverage, ranking, visibility, or permanent availability on external platforms before verified.
Guaranteed quality label	Do not use language that implies external certification, endorsement, or recognition that has not been formally obtained.

 

· Launch Readiness Review

Before public launch, a new or cooperating journal must have aims and scope, an editorial board or founding editorial structure, a peer review model, author guidelines, publication ethics information, OA/access model, fees if any, license/copyright information, contact route, archiving/preservation statement, and complaints/appeals route.

If a proposed journal does not meet minimum transparency, publication ethics, editorial governance, platform, or policy requirements, it should not be publicly launched until the deficiencies are addressed.

Peer review model	Public peer review model, reviewer number or expectations, screening process, decision process, and appeal route.
Author guidelines	Submission requirements, article types, manuscript preparation, statements, ethics, data, AI-use disclosure, and permissions information.
Publication ethics information	Authorship, conflicts, research ethics, plagiarism, duplicate submission, data integrity, correction, retraction, and complaint routes.
OA/access model and fees	Access model, APC or funding model if any, waiver/discount information where applicable, and separation from editorial decisions.
License/copyright information	Creative Commons license or approved license statement, author rights, reuse, permissions, and self-archiving information.
Contact route	Editorial, technical, general, cooperation, and serious institutional-level contacts as appropriate.
Archiving/preservation statement	PKP Preservation Network eligibility where supported, DOI persistence, platform records, metadata maintenance, backups, and any formally enabled preservation service.
Complaints/appeals route	Clear pathway for complaints, appeals, concerns, corrections, ethics issues, and escalation.

 

· Quality Development Support

CorayNova may support journals in preparing for quality review, indexing readiness, metadata improvement, transparency checks, ethics alignment, preservation readiness, and responsible public communication. Support for readiness does not guarantee acceptance by any external database, index, metric provider, association, or membership organization.
