This resource sets out CorayNova Academic Press's publisher-level process for submitting, reviewing, revising, deciding, and developing journal proposals.
The proposal process is designed to protect academic quality, editorial independence, publication ethics, transparent governance, platform readiness, sustainability, and responsible communication with societies, institutions, Editors-in-Chief, journal owners, and other partners.
· Submission and Review Stages
CorayNova uses a staged process so that proposals can be reviewed carefully, proportionately, and with appropriate confidentiality. The exact path may vary according to proposal type, field complexity, cooperation model, governance issues, technical needs, and agreement requirements.
|
Stage |
Purpose |
|
Initial enquiry |
The proposer contacts CorayNova to outline the idea, cooperation type, field, proposing party, and preliminary questions. |
|
Proposal template request |
The proposer contacts editorial@coraynova.com to request the proposal template. Cooperation or institutional discussions may also involve marketing@coraynova.com. |
|
Proposal submission |
The proposer submits the completed proposal and supporting information for administrative and editorial review. |
|
Administrative check |
CorayNova checks whether the proposal is complete enough to proceed, including required information, contacts, and supporting documents. |
|
Editorial/publisher screening |
CorayNova assesses scope, scholarly need, editorial model, policy alignment, ethics readiness, platform needs, and sustainability. |
|
Expert or advisory review where needed |
Subject experts, advisers, or publisher-designated reviewers may be consulted when field, ethics, governance, or operational questions require additional review. |
|
Discussion meeting |
CorayNova and the proposer may discuss scope, governance, editorial board, peer review, access model, funding, platform support, and launch conditions. |
|
Revision if needed |
The proposer may be asked to revise the proposal, clarify evidence, change the model, strengthen governance, or address concerns. |
|
Decision |
CorayNova issues an internal or formal outcome appropriate to the proposal stage. |
|
Agreement/governance setup |
If the proposal proceeds, the parties work on agreement terms, governance documents, role approval, public information, and operational responsibilities. |
|
Platform setup |
CorayNova configures the journal on the CorayNova Journals Platform according to approved workflow, policy, metadata, and technical requirements. |
|
Launch readiness review |
CorayNova checks public information, editorial governance, peer review model, policies, fees if any, license, archiving, contacts, and platform readiness before public launch. |
|
Public launch |
The journal may be publicly launched when required conditions are met and approved public information is ready. |
· Timing
CorayNova does not commit to a fixed evaluation timeline for journal proposals. Timing depends on proposal completeness, field complexity, reviewer/adviser availability, governance discussions, technical setup, and agreement requirements.
Proposers can help the process by submitting complete information, responding promptly to clarification requests, disclosing conflicts of interest, and providing realistic plans for governance, editorial capacity, access model, funding, platform setup, and sustainability.
· Decision Outcomes
|
Outcome |
Meaning |
|
Proceed |
The proposal may move to agreement, governance setup, platform setup, launch readiness review, or another approved next step. |
|
Revise and Resubmit Proposal |
The proposal has potential but requires meaningful revision before further evaluation. |
|
Hold for Further Development |
The proposal may be premature or dependent on academic, editorial, governance, funding, platform, or community conditions that must develop further. |
|
Decline |
The proposal does not meet CorayNova's academic, editorial, ethical, operational, policy, sustainability, or strategic requirements at this time. |
· Resubmission After Decline
A declined proposal may be resubmitted after substantial revision, but CorayNova does not guarantee renewed evaluation, acceptance, public launch, or any particular outcome. A resubmission should clearly explain what has changed and how previous concerns have been addressed.
· Confidentiality and Records
Proposal and discussion materials are confidential. Confidential materials include, but are not limited to, proposal documents, business plans, editorial candidates, society or institutional negotiations, financial assumptions, strategic plans, unpublished journal concepts, agreement discussions, governance documents, and evaluation comments.
CorayNova may retain proposal and evaluation records according to journal workflow, publisher requirements, legal obligations, and operational needs. Proposal participants should not publicly disclose confidential proposal information, candidate names, business assumptions, negotiations, or unpublished journal concepts without appropriate authorization.
