Navigation: Resources > For Reviewers > Reviewer Recognition
This resource establishes CorayNova Academic Press's standards for recognizing reviewer service.
Peer review service for CorayNova journals is normally voluntary and unpaid, unless a separate written arrangement has been approved. Reviewer recognition must be accurate, proportionate, transparent, and consistent with confidentiality and peer review integrity.
· Core Principle
Reviewer recognition acknowledges the time, expertise, and care contributed by reviewers. Recognition must not influence reviewer independence, reviewer recommendations, editorial decisions, or author treatment.
Recognition must not disclose confidential manuscript information, author identities, reviewer identities where protected, review content, editorial decisions, or editorial correspondence unless the journal's approved open review policy expressly permits disclosure.
· Recognition Options
|
Recognition Type |
CorayNova Position |
Conditions |
|
Reviewer certificate |
May be provided for completed review assignments where platform records support verification. |
The certificate should not disclose confidential manuscript details unless permitted by journal policy. |
|
Platform review record |
May be retained in the CorayNova Journals Platform or journal records. |
Records are maintained according to journal workflow, publisher requirements, legal obligations, and operational needs. |
|
Annual acknowledgement |
May be published with reviewer consent and where the journal chooses to provide annual acknowledgement. |
Acknowledgement should not link reviewers to specific manuscripts unless an approved open review model permits it. |
|
Thank-you communication |
May be sent by the journal or Editorial Office. |
Must remain professional and must not imply influence over future editorial decisions. |
|
Third-party reviewer recognition service |
May be supported where the journal or platform has enabled a compatible service. |
Use only where supported and consistent with confidentiality and journal policy; not all journals are promised to participate. |
· APC Discounts, Waivers, and Financial Benefits
CorayNova does not make a publisher-level public commitment that reviewer service automatically generates APC discounts, waivers, vouchers, credits, or other financial benefits.
Any future journal-level reviewer benefit must be formally approved, transparently described, and designed so that it does not influence review content, reviewer recommendations, editorial decisions, author treatment, or the independence of peer review.
· Responsible Use of Recognition
· Reviewers may use certificates or acknowledgements to document service where doing so does not disclose confidential manuscript information.
· Reviewers must not publish the manuscript title, author identity, review report, recommendation, decision, or editorial correspondence unless the journal's approved open review policy allows it.
· Reviewers should not imply that recognition represents endorsement by CorayNova, guaranteed future invitations, editorial appointment, journal affiliation beyond the review service performed, or influence over editorial decisions.
· Recognition does not remove confidentiality duties after the review is completed.
· Reviewer Conduct and Loss of Eligibility
