Authorship, Contributorship, Funding & Competing Interests Policy

Navigation: Policies > Editorial Standards & Publication Ethics > Authorship, Contributorship, Funding & Competing Interests Policy

This policy sets out CorayNova Academic Press's standards for authorship, contributorship, author approval, author changes, acknowledgements, funding statements, funder roles, competing interests, corresponding author responsibilities, and CRediT taxonomy use where adopted by a journal.

• Scope
This policy applies to all submissions, revisions, accepted manuscripts, published articles, corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, and publication record updates involving authorship, contribution, funding, or competing interests in CorayNova journals.

• Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to authors, corresponding authors, contributors, editors, reviewers, guest editors, editorial offices, funders, institutions, and CorayNova publisher-level offices.

• Policy Statement

Authorship must reflect substantial scholarly contribution, responsibility for the work, approval of the submitted and published record, and accountability for the integrity of the contribution. Contributors who do not meet authorship requirements should be acknowledged where appropriate and with permission.

CorayNova strongly recommends the CRediT taxonomy as a transparent way to describe author contributions. Individual journals may decide whether CRediT contribution statements are required for specific article types or workflows.

CorayNova calls on journals to require all authors to approve the submitted version, revised version, and final version for publication. If an author does not respond while the submitting author continues the workflow, the journal may determine appropriate handling according to its workflow, evidence, communication record, and risk assessment.

• Procedures and Standards

Area
Policy standard
Corresponding author responsibility
The corresponding author is responsible for confirming that all authors are correctly listed, have approved the submission, and have provided complete authorship, contribution, funding, ethics, data, competing interest, and permissions information.
Author changes
Author additions, removals, order changes, or corresponding author changes after submission must include a written reason and confirmation from all relevant authors. Changes after acceptance require stricter review.
Funding statement
CorayNova strongly recommends that all submissions include a funding statement or a statement that no funding was received.
Funder role
Authors should disclose whether funders had a role in study design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, writing, decision to submit, or publication support.
Competing interests
All authors must disclose financial and non-financial competing interests. The corresponding author is responsible for confirming completeness.
Undisclosed interests
Undisclosed or inaccurate interests may require correction, editorial reassessment, expression of concern, retraction, or other action where appropriate.
Acknowledgements
People or organizations that contributed but do not meet authorship requirements may be acknowledged with permission and appropriate transparency.

Authorship disputes should be handled carefully and may require author clarification, institutional involvement, editorial reassignment, publication ethics review, correction, or other proportionate action. CorayNova normally expects institutions to assist with disputes that depend on facts outside the publisher's direct record.
