This policy sets out CorayNova Academic Press's standards for research ethics, publication ethics, research integrity, responsible reporting, AI disclosure, image and data integrity, originality, duplicate publication, peer review integrity, citation integrity, and handling of suspected ethical concerns.

• Scope

This policy applies to manuscripts submitted to CorayNova journals, published articles, supplementary materials, peer review activity, editorial handling, corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, complaints, appeals, and publication ethics investigations.

• Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to authors, editors, reviewers, guest editors, editorial board members, journal teams, institutions, funders, readers, complainants, and CorayNova staff or representatives involved in research and publication processes.

• Policy Statement

CorayNova expects all research and publication activity to be conducted with honesty, accountability, transparency, respect for participants and communities, appropriate ethical approval, accurate reporting, responsible data handling, and protection of the scholarly record.

Research involving human participants, animals, personal data, surveys, interviews, questionnaires, identifiable images, clinical information, biological materials, or comparable ethical oversight must include appropriate ethics approval, consent, animal welfare, or data protection statements. Where ethics approval is not applicable, authors should state not applicable and follow journal instructions.

• Procedures and Standards

Ethics area	Policy standard
Human participants	Manuscripts must include ethics approval and consent information where required by the research design, jurisdiction, institution, funder, or journal.
Animals	Animal research must comply with applicable ethical, welfare, legal, and institutional requirements.
Personal data	Research involving personal data must address privacy, consent, anonymization, confidentiality, legal basis, and responsible data handling where applicable.
Surveys and interviews	Authors should describe consent, ethics approval where required, recruitment, privacy, and risk safeguards.
Clinical trials	Trial registration and clinical reporting requirements apply where applicable; journal-specific requirements may vary by field.
AI use	Authors must disclose relevant use of generative AI or AI-assisted tools. AI cannot be listed as an author. Authors remain responsible for the entire work.
Data and image integrity	Data fabrication, data falsification, inappropriate image manipulation, selective reporting, and unsupported conclusions are prohibited.
Originality and duplication	Plagiarism, duplicate submission, redundant publication, and undisclosed prior dissemination are prohibited.
Peer review and citation integrity	Peer review manipulation, false reviewer identities, coercive citation, citation manipulation, and undisclosed conflicts are prohibited.

CorayNova may use similarity checks, manual review, editorial assessment, reviewer feedback, data or image review, metadata review, and other reasonable methods to evaluate suspected concerns. CorayNova does not publish internal thresholds, screening settings, or investigation tactics.

Potential ethical concerns may be handled through clarification, correction, expression of concern, retraction, article removal in exceptional cases, rejection, withdrawal, appeal review, notification of relevant parties where appropriate, or other proportionate action.
